The Women’s Ministry
This vital Ministry of the church was reorganized in August of 2012 as an arm of the JTMBC Missionaries. The goal of this ministry is to develop opportunities for women of the congregation and this community to become involved in the work of the Church. Standing firm on the mantra of the congregation, “We Believe in Church wide Participation”, we are goal driven to that end. The women of this congregation have always played a vital role in the varied church ministries. From Bible Study teachers on various levels, Culinary Committee, Music Ministry, to Church administration and all paths in between. This is an opportunity to join those efforts for a 21st Century Ministry where the methods may be different however the message is the same, that Jesus Christ is Lord! In January of 2011, the Pastor added to the department of Christian Education a Women’s Bible Study, focusing entirely on the “Women of the Bible”. This Study is held every 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 PM EST. This is an opportunity for women to come together over coffee and tea and study the various women written about in the scriptures. We look each month to find that which God is trying to relay through His Word, to Christian women as well as those that are curious about what this Christ is that we believe on. We invite all who will, to join us each month. Each year we try to have a community Ministry focus. In 2012 the Women’s Ministry spearheaded the Church wide participation of a collection of toiletries for the Women at Kentucky Correctional Institute for Women (KCIW). 115 of various toiletry items were donated, turned over to the JTMBC Prison Ministry and distributed to KCIW in the Fall of 2012. An additional Ministry focus for 2012 was a fun filled afternoon hosting of a BABY SHOWER for an expectant mother at The Healing Place. The culminating celebration in 2012 of JTMBC Women and ministry involvement came on Sunday, September 23, 2012 with Women’s Ministry Day, themed, “Unity in Faith”. At the morning worship service praise and worship of the opportunities that God provides for each of us to be of service was the theme of the day. It was “HIGH CHURCH” for all in attendance! There are many plans and much excitement for 2013. God continues to take us to places where we may have never dreamed of going before but it has been said that God does allow you to go and minister where He will not equip for the task. As the Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians, ” Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds”. Colossians 4:3 (KJV)
