Evangelism 2000 Web Devotional

evangelism2000During the months of  June, July, August, and September, we are committed to see 500+ people come through the church for a total of 2000 lives exposed to the life saving Word of God.

Psalms 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Our prayer is that God brings an increase to His church through the faithfulness of His people.

We have embarked to do something great for God, therefore, we must seek his favor and direction, for we can’t accomplish anything without the Lord’s help. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” Zech. 4:6 ESV

This devotional is an attempt to consecrate ourselves as we anticipate this move of God, for prayer and works go hand in hand.

How to Use this Prayer Devotional

There are three devotionals for each day that will guide our prayers together.

The morning prayer and devotional focuses on prayers for ourselves as outlined from James 5:16.  “Confess your faults one to another; and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

It is important that before we begin to try and remove the speck from our neighbors eye that we first remove the log out of our own eye.  God promises to restore us in right fellowship if we only humble ourselves in prayer and repent of our wicked ways.  2 Chron. 7:14

The afternoon prayer and devotional will focus on prayers for the work of the church as outlined in Matthew 9:37-38. “Then he said to his disciples, ‘“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’”  May our prayers impact our community as well as our own lives.

The evening prayer and devotional will focus on prayers for the unchurched and unsaved as outlined in Romans 10:1.  “Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.”  We should focus our prayers for our family members, friends, and acquaintances.  We should ask God to show us the many opportunities he provides that we may engage the world for him.

There are questions to help guide you through this devotional, as well as space provided so you may write down any thoughts or revelations that God is showing you.

Every Wednesday as we come for corporate prayer we will lift up each daily prayer focus, and afterwards share in a fellowship meal together.

The last two Wednesdays of the month will be set aside as days for a partial fast.

May God be glorified as we attempt something great for him and may his people be blessed in the process.
